It's lovely to meet you!

Birdy O'Sheedy
I’m a registered clinical psychologist, coach and lover of the earth and nature. If you come to your session with me, there is a high chance we will be sitting around a bonfire or in my cosy log cabin on my permaculture property.

As a professional clinical psychologist and coach, I honestly believe that there is a place for highly effective evidence-based approaches (such as EMDR) AND honouring our intuition, embracing our unique sense of power, awe, and fascination, and most importantly, recognising that we are part of nature and how vital our connection with nature is in our own healing journey.

I’m an accredited Clinical Psychologist with a special interested in offering a more holistic approach to the wellbeing of people as the “pure” clinical mindset often feels reductionistic. I’ve practised many years in the traditional model of clinical psychology internationally, but I always felt the urge to go deeper and treat the person as a whole.

And that’s essentially holistic psychology, which to me is one of the most potent forms of healing.

What is Holistic Psychology?
Holistic psychology looks at the person as a whole, with all the richness and complexity that it implies. This means that it tries to integrate and bring the body, mind, soul and spirit into alignment, and tries to raise awareness and consciousness in the individual, but also looks at the individual from a collective, social perspective.
I've extensively trained in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy, Schema Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, EMDR Therapy, and Cognitive Behavioural Therapy. I've studied and worked in Austria, Germany and Switzerland, in addition to Australia, and practiced in hospitals, NGO’s, and also in private practice settings.

Oh, and I’m a qualified dog trainer who focusses on the personal growth of the human at the end of the lead, as I believe dogs are incredible teachers and healers. They have an amazing ability to shine a light on areas that we have neglected, are unaware of, struggle with, or might have rejected.

Meet my Sidekick Pax
Pax is my spicy, radiant ball of sunshine that has a rocket up his booty. As a working line Labrador, he takes his role of bringing love and cuddles (and often chaos, lol) to the property very seriously. He is most of the time in his run, but he is doing his best to greet everyone and let the world know he is always ready for cuddles.
The Cosy Cabin
A lovely healing place for our sessions on my permaculture property.
